Fined for smoking outdoors! Welcome to "Cool" Britannia.
Two hospital workers were fined for smoking outdoors on the loading bay. Even though air space belongs to everyone and there is no law against smoking outdoors, they were fined anyway. The only silver lining to this sad affair is that the news report fingers the perpetrators of this outrage as "anti-smoking police," rather than designating them as some anodyne euphemism. The reporter, however, would have been more accurate had he called them the smoke gestapo.
We, at Forces, hope the hospital workers will refuse to pay the fine.
