We are told that folks in India, particularly youth, have responded to anti-tobacco fanaticism with blatant derision and defiance. We see the same, increasingly, all over the world. That’s as it should and must be. Prudent health advice is one thing. Moderation is good in all things: especially in thinking and in social policy. Fanaticism is something else. Tyranny is intolerable. Evil must be called evil. It must be fought. It must be destroyed. The time for total rebellion is here. Show respect for common decency. Show respect for yourself. Defy.
