A Federal Judge in Louisville, KY has dismissed a challenge to the 1998 Master Settlement Agreement between the states and 19 tobacco product manufacturers saying there’s no legal basis for attacking the compact.

US District Judge Jennifer Coffman ruled recently that the lawsuit brought by General Tobacco failed on all fronts because the company couldn’t prove the settlement amounted to either a conspiracy or anti-competitive behavior by the government. The MSA is "immune from challenge as a violation of anti-trust laws," Coffman wrote.

All tied up, nice and neat! You can’t sue us because we made sure we’re immune from challenges. How’s that for justice, folks! There is no justice.
