Penn and Teller

Penn and Teller had said that second hand smoke was a farse, then they said they may have made a mistake. We are happy to report that they got it right again! Click here to view.
New York

New York has exceeded their authority in banning smoking in parks, swimming pools, beaches and playgrounds. New York’s pro-smoking group C.L.A.S.H is challenging this new ban.

The process by which these bans were imposed is unconstitutional has already been determined in two other identical cases.

Goodbye to this injustice.

Birmingham

Michael Hansen has written and opinion piece on why he supports a smoking ban in Birmingham. Mr. Hansen isn’t qualified to write this op ed piece. He has little idea of what he is talking about. He doesn’t know that Adults do have the freedom to choose were they eat and were they work. He also has no idea that second hand smoke studies are based on questionnaires, not clinical evidence.

Too many people have been brainwashed by Big Pharma, who has demonized tobacco for the last twenty years, to sell their smoking cessation devices.
Hopkinsville, KY
Time for residents to call the City Council.
Pennsylvania

Over 2800 bars and eateries in Pennsylvania have exemptions to allowing smoking. We knew that wouldn’t last long, the anti’s can’t stand it that smoking is allowed anywhere. Senate Bill 35, now in committee, that would eliminate all exemptions.

If you never participate in government now is the time, contact your representative and let them know how you feel about this issue.
Plain Packing, The Truth

Emperor Bloomberg

Mayor Michael Bloomberg introduced a bill last week that would force owners of residential buildings to adopt and enforce stricter smoking policies.
When is this guy’s term over? He is a dangerous man that knows no boundries.

White House Backed Down On Obesity

The White House kept silent last year as Congress killed a plan by four federal agencies to reduce sugar, salt and fat in food marketed to children.

And during the past two years, each of the 24 states and five cities that considered "soda taxes" to discourage consumption of sugary drinks has seen the efforts dropped or defeated.

Perhaps the "health nannies" days are numbered, they have run rough shot for the last twenty years. Time they are put back in their place.

Illinois

A recent study by the University of Chicago found that smokers in areas with more ads for smoking-cessation products were less likely to make an attempt to quit.
Guess they never heard of the American’s rebellious spirit!
Louisiana

Louisiana senators refused Thursday to repeal a law that bans employers from discriminating against smokers, after opponents said the change could lead to widespread firings.

Voting for the bill were Martiny and Sen. Ronnie Johns, R-Lake Charles. Voting against the bill were Peacock and Sens. Bob Kostelka, R-Monroe, and Ed Murray, D-New Orleans.
The fact is that insurance may go up by 5% and that is a big maybe. All workers should be protected from the use of a legal commodity.
