E-cigarettes Banned on US flight

U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced today in a news release that e-cigarettes would be banned on all scheduled flights of U.S. and foreign carriers into and out of the United States. The U.S. Transportation Department also extended its ban against smoking to charter flights where a flight attendant is a required crew member.
Enlightenment in England

"E-cigarettes are estimated to have helped 16,000-22,000 smokers in England to quit in 2014.

Previous research has found that when used in this way, e-cigarettes increase the chances of success by around 50% compared with using no support or one of the traditional nicotine products such as gum or skin patch bought from a shop.2,3 This raises the long-term success rates from around 5% to around 7½%. The increased success rate amounts to an additional 22K people stopping who would otherwise have continued smoking. Some of these people may have used an e-cigarette instead of one of the more established aids to cessation such as the Stop-Smoking Services. Adjusting for this, the number helped by e-cigarettes may be somewhat lower, at 16K.

Professor Robert West, who led the research team, said "E-cigarettes appear to be helping a significant number of smokers to stop who would not have done otherwise – not as many as some e-cigarette enthusiasts claim, but a substantial number nonetheless."
FRANCE

In France, it is totally acceptable to "vape" away in a pub, club, café, or restaurant, as many people in France do. However the health "nazi’s" nose are bent out of shape because they don’t want to normalize "smoking" or anything that looks like "smoking".

France’s Health Department ”said the ban should be put into place, "even if the risks of passive smoking are zero or extremely limited".

We hope the French people object strongly as they have done in the past.
New York judge rules that vaping is not smoking

“An electronic cigarette neither burns nor contains tobacco,” said the court. “Instead, the use of such a device, which is commonly referred to as ‘vaping,’ involves the inhalation of vaporized e-cigarette liquid consisting of water, nicotine, a base of propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin and occasionally, flavoring.”
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) is a vape Champion

"Hunter has pushed legislation to protect the growing industry and made headlines this week when he puffed from an e-cigarette during a congressional hearing.
The FDA Deeming Authority Clarification Act, which Hunter is co-sponsoring, would roll back those proposed restrictions."

We should all support Rep. Duncan Hunter in his endeavour to continue to fight the FDA deeming regulations.
White House Finalizing Strict E-Cig ‘Deeming’ Rule

The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is currently reviewing new federal regulations requiring all e-cigarette products sold after February 15, 2007, to apply for federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, regardless of whether they are new products or previously created.

The proposed FDA “deeming rule” would also extend the agency’s tobacco regulatory authority to consumer products without tobacco, such as e-cigarettes.

Nathan Makla, state government relations manager for The Heartland Institute, which publishes Budget & Tax News, says laws and regulatory agencies should acknowledge the big differences between e-cigarettes and tobacco cigarettes, treating them as the significantly different products they are.

“E-cigarettes simulate the physical and psychological act of smoking while eliminating most of the harmful chemicals found in conventional cigarettes,” Makla said. “Vaping is not the same as smoking tobacco products. E-cigarettes and other vaping devices have far fewer negative consequences for vapers and bystanders, and they should not be treated the same.”

We have a President who is hooked on Nicotine gum, he should be more sympathetic towards smokers and fully support e-cigarettes! America is going backward not forward like the Brits who are encouraging people to give up their smokes for e-cigs.

We fully support e-cigarettes and I am vaping one now!
