South Africans have until the end of the month to comment on draft regulations which could see smoking banned in all public areas including covered walkways, service areas, inside bars, on public or private beaches and in restaurants.
Meanwhile, an independent economic policy research and education organisation has slammed the government’s latest proposals for restricting smoking in public places.
Time to act. Smoking bans create a loss of jobs and effects the mom and pop restaurants and bars.

The Control of Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems Bill (‘Tobacco Bill’), which is open for comment until 9 August 2018, imposes draconian new rules and restrictions on the sale and use of tobacco products, and controversially places electronic delivery systems (e-cigarettes or “vapes”) under harsh regulation.
The Milwaukee Bucks will designate as non-smoking not only the new Fiserv Forum but also the entire 30-acre arena district. This ban includes e-cigarettes.
