A report released Wednesday by Cook County Clerk David Orr’s office showed lobbying firms hired by tobacco companies accounted for nearly 10 percent of the $2.4 million paid to lobbyists last year to influence Cook County officials, almost certainly a result of the $1 hike in the county cigarette tax.<br />

Funny, they didn’t mention how much Big Pharma, ACS, ALA, AHA and various other anti-tobacco activist paid to have this tax enacted.<br />
