Michael Hansen has written and opinion piece on why he supports a smoking ban in Birmingham.&nbsp; Mr. Hansen isn’t qualified to write this op ed piece.&nbsp; He has little idea of what he is talking about.&nbsp; He doesn’t know that Adults do have the freedom to choose were they eat and were they work. He also has no idea that second hand smoke studies are based on questionnaires, not clinical evidence.&nbsp; <br />

Too many people have been brainwashed by Big Pharma, who has demonized tobacco for the last twenty years, to sell their smoking cessation devices.&nbsp; <br />

Mayor Dan Kemp, of&nbsp; Hopkinsville, Kentucy plans to introduce a smoking ban on May 24 and hope the City Council will approve it by early June.<br />

Time for residents to call the City Council.<br />

Over 2800 bars and eateries in Pennsylvania have exemptions to allowing smoking.&nbsp; We knew that wouldn’t last long, the anti’s can’t stand it that smoking is allowed anywhere. Senate Bill 35, now in committee, that would eliminate all exemptions.<br />

If you never participate in government now is the time, contact your representative and let them know how you feel about this issue.<br type="_moz" />

Mayor Michael Bloomberg introduced a bill last week that would force owners of residential buildings to adopt and enforce stricter smoking policies.<br />

<p>Louisiana senators refused Thursday to repeal a law that bans employers from discriminating against smokers, after opponents said the change could lead to widespread firings.</p>
<p>Voting for the bill were Martiny and Sen. Ronnie Johns, R-Lake Charles. Voting against the bill were Peacock and Sens. Bob Kostelka, R-Monroe, and Ed Murray, D-New Orleans.<br />

The fact is that insurance may go up by 5% and that is a big maybe.&nbsp; All workers should be protected from the use of a legal commodity.</p>

KFDI interviews Paul Soutar of Kansaswatchdog.org talks about the Kansas Clean Air Act.&nbsp;&nbsp; He goes on to explain that the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation has spent over one billion dollars to lobby through various charitable nonprofits as the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and the American Lung Association.&nbsp; He goes on to point out many bars have had a 40% decrease in sales and many have been forced to close.<br />

Smoking bans are not good for business.&nbsp; Worth listening too.<br />
