Yesterday, President Obama said "Today some big tobacco companies are trying to block these labels because they don’t want to be honest about the consequences of using their products," said Obama.

President Obama was referring to a lawsuit filed by the tobacco companies against the FDA’s authority to mandate graphic images on their product and they won. President Obama is a constitutional lawyer and professor, he of all people should know that it is a slippery slope for all manufacturers, not just tobacco, to surrender their First Amendment rights.

Do you want to see grizzly scenes of car accidents caused by drunk drivers on your favorite bottle of wine or can of beer? Photo’s of grossly obese people on your potato chips? The health nannies never know when to stop, if they win, that is exactly what will happen.
President Obama quit smoking with nicotine gum. He may be smoke free but is he nicotine free? Ex-smoker’s are the worst, he smoked for decades and quit. As President, he really didn’t have a choice the media was merciless but it took him three years. Now he wants everyone to quit.

Mr. President, if you wanted to quit on your own without outside pressure good for you. As for the rest of us who do not wish to quit, mind your own business and leave us alone! If you really want to help smokers than make the product safer, insist that the tobacco companies "acid wash" the tobacco leaves and stop buying tobacco overseas where they use chemicals that were banned here decades ago. Remove the fire retardant paper that has never been tested for human consumption and fund cancer research, just not though the American Cancer Society who spends more money on lobbying than it does on research.
