Interesting article by C.A.G.E. Canada on the old story of smokers claiming that they are “disabled” (because they smoke!!!…) to get the state off their back, or to be able to find a job and claim “rights” under some kind of “disability act”.
Ask yourself these questions, and give yourself a honest answer in the privacy of your own heart: if you were a Jew in Nazi Germany or a black in 1953 Alabama, would you claim disability for your choice of religion or lifestyle or genetic makeup just to avoid de-socialization or to get a job? Would you quit your belief and your way of life – or even try to bleach your face like some African Americans did – to “fit in”?
Warning: the answer will give you a measure of your dignity and self-respect – and on whether you deserve all your get or not.
