CONCORD – The proposed tax cut of 10 cents per pack of cigarettes will lead to an infusion of more hours for employees and new hires, the heads of the state lobbies for grocery and convenience stores said Tuesday.
“More states are looking at this because tax increases on cigarettes have failed to bring in revenue,”
Note to State Legislators: You can’t keep taxing tobacco and banning it in all public places, including the outside, without revenue loss – DUH!
Smokers are consumers like everyone else, they will find the best deal. Twenty percent of the population continue to smoke and you keep punishing them for doing nothing more than choosing a legal product.
