While everyone is so busy beating up tobacco and people who smoke, there are two articles today that are interesting. The first one is about pesticides in food. “When you pick up food, you are eating thousands of chemicals at a time,” said Allan Felsot, who published “Pesticides and Health: Myths and Realities”. Mr. Felsot claims they are harmless, the Environmental Working Group say they are toxic.

The second is a first-of-its-kind study, scientists are reporting that the indoor air in offices is an important source of worker exposure to potentially toxic substances released by carpeting, furniture, paint and other items. Their report, which documents a link between levels of these so-called polyfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in office air and in the blood of workers, appears in ACS’ journal Environmental Science & Technology.

You thought you were safe now because you didn’t have to breathe that nasty second hand smoke, turns out you’re not! You are eating toxic fruit and vegetables and your desk polish is producing more nasty toxic chemicals which are probably in your house too. I would say the joke is on the anti’s.

We won’t see any campaigns against pesticides in our food, home or office because there is no profit to be made by Big Pharma.
