Antis will panic

What we have found out, we pass on to you. A posture of prepared attack is often more effective than a defense of disemination and discredit.

Cigarette Smoking Among Adults --- United States, 2006

"One of the national health objectives for 2010 is to reduce the prevalence of cigarette smoking among adults to <12%.

In 2006, an estimated 20.8% (45.3 million) of U.S. adults were current cigarette smokers.

By sex, prevalence was higher among men (23.9%) than women (18.0%)."

In 1990, an estimated 23% of U.S. adults were current cigarette smokers.

By sex, prevalence was higher among men(24.9%) than women(21.3%).

By sex, the decrease was higher among women(15.5%) than men(4%).

The decrease in current smoking rates over 16 years has been a whopping 9.6%!!

Cigarette Use Among High School Students --- United States, 1991--2005

"A national health objective for 2010 is to reduce the prevalence of current cigarette use among high school students to <16%."

"The prevalence of current cigarette use increased from 27.5% in 1991 to 36.4% in 1997 and then declined significantly to 23.0% in 2005."

Wow, a whopping 16% decrease over 14 years.

In spite of hundreds of smoking bans and billions of dollars spent(most of it ours!!) :x ,
we smokers are just not playing their game the way that they want us to play it!! :D

To achieve their 'national health objectives' by 2010, in two years the antis will have to force another 30% decrease in teen smoking rates and another 42% decrease in adult smoking rates.

OR, at the very least they'll have to torture the statistics in a shiny brand new "study" to show a decrease whether it's real and provable or not.
Given their track record, this is what will be much more likely to occur.

Sounds just about like what their plan of action will be.
