Smokefree Coalition: tobacco prohibition by 2017

What we have found out, we pass on to you. A posture of prepared attack is often more effective than a defense of disemination and discredit.

Smokefree Coalition: tobacco prohibition by 2017

I wondered if you'd seen this? ASH New Zealand and the Smokefree Coalition are now openly pushing for tobacco prohibition by 2017. The next logical step indeed...

Well, of course.

Communism killed tens of millions of people. Fascism killed tens of millions of people. Yet, people continue to push for ideas that will contribute to the creation of similar systems of goverment.

Why? Because they view, say the people of Russia or Germany from sixty years ago, as semi-fictional, foreign, less enlightened, essentially dumb masses who are quite unlike the people of today.

Prohibition in the 1930s? Funny how all these things occurred around the same time. Don't we all know that people living in 1930s America wore silly clothes and hats and were full of all kinds of stupid and ignorant thoughts and beliefs? You see them on film and they all work around really fast in a kind of silly way in a silly non-advanced world. Why, they're nothing like the great minds we have roaming the world today!

The message seems to always be the same: we're going to repeat the mistakes of history because we're better than everyone else. Those who disagree with us are ignorant and hopelessly unenlightened and need to be led. The mistakes of history are, just that, history. We're smarter and we can do it better.

Prohibition is inevitable, because you have to understand, the people who make such decisions have a funny tendency that no group of people in the history of the world can lay claim to: they are absolutely, positively correct in their view and they have never been wrong about anything. They're right about smoking and secondhand smoke, they're right about global warming, they're right about food and nutrition, they're right about all of the metaphysical questions, they're right about the political framework that should be imposed. They're right about everything! 100%, absolutely, all the time.

Disagree? You're not thinking clearly. Something's wrong with you. Really, they don't even want to speak with you.

When it all plays out, they'll just do a better job at genocide.

If you disagree then you haven't been adequately informed!

Okay, but having goals is effective strategy. Obviously they won't make this by 2017, but with a goal like this they could find themselves on the way -- like with a constitutional amendment in the works -- I suspect they will be happy with half way there, too.

Why don't we set some goals for 2017 ourselves? Some of the best brains in the world come through these tavern doors, as I have seen. Since we all have different views too, why don't we start putting together a platform, with many planks, and we can negotiate inclusions and exclusions and edits when we're done.

Okay, I'll start off with a plank for our platform of goals for 2017, and maybe some others could add some too. (Again, it's not about we absolutely have to achieve these 100% in ten years, it's about the power of goals). Here's one for starters:

1. By 2017 we will see second-hand smoke universally recognized for the fraud that it is.

I would like to amend the first plank to 2010.

1. By 2010, secondhand smoke is universally recognized for the fraud that it is and "environmental tobacco smoke" is universally recognized as a government ploy to allow/fund a fraudulent study to be drawn-up by the Environmental Tobacco Agency.

2. By 2012, lawsuits are filed against perpetrators of the 2nd-hand smoke fraud and charges are brought against antismoking groups as hate-mongerers. (Hate crimes?) The creators of SAMMEC are taken to court for Fraud (with a capitol "F")

3. By 2017, smoking is permitted on commercial airline flights globally. Possibly allowing for "business" flights to be smoker-friendly and "family" flights to be nonsmoking. However, all flights to New Zealand are halted.
