The Dumbest Generation
Why do we believe in the dangers of active and passive smoking? Do we believe the global warming fraud? Why do we live in the fear of getting sick, are obsessed with risk and have adopted the Precautionary Principle that prevents almost all social, economic and industrial development while killing our freedoms and economies? The answer is astonishingly simple: because we are getting dumber and dumber, and thus more and more gullible by authority and "experts". This book by Michael Graham refers to political issues, but the common denominator is the same: ignorance, from which lack of depth in thinking and absence of independent reasoning and analysis stem. "Ignorant voters aren't a problem, they're a target demographic": as long as we are exploiting the results of ignorance for power gain instead of addressing the base problem of profound popular ignorance catered to by irresponsible media and institutions, the only future open to us are computer-controlled Dark Ages. That is why, in a time when we should be reaching for the stars, we believe instead that odours kill, along with antropogenic global warming and "dangers" from tobacco, alcohol, food, pollution and other industrial “evils”. That in spite of the obvious fact that winters are getting colder and colder, and notwithstanding the in-your-face fact that life is getting longer and longer – to the point that it creates a crisis for the welfare state institutions. Ignorance creates fear and superstition, and that rejects the most glaring evidence because of emotions.

Witches fly on brooms. Those who point out that no one has ever seen one are the enemy, the corrupt and the satanic. If you think that education is expensive, try ignorance. In our case, just read the media and their climate and lifestyle propaganda. Especially and most tragically, read the trash science coming our of the most (once) prestigious universities on smoking and almost everything else.

Forces Review:

In the same spirit of his acclaimed satire "Clinton and Me: How Eight Years of a Pants-Free Presidency Changed My Nation, My Family, and My Life", "THE DUMBEST GENERATION" reveals what people inside the election business have known for years: ignorant voters aren't a problem, they're a target demographic. From the bumbling balloteers of Florida to the crush of Dumb-and-Dumber culture filling the neighborhood multiplex, Graham hilariously sees a nation of people who should be "denied the right to vote in any election not sponsored by TV Guide."

A former-stand-up comic turned GOP political consultant, Michael Graham published his first humor column at the age 16 and has continued to write politically savvy humor for several national publications including the Washington Times and National Review. A regular guest on Politically Incorrect and Hardball, Graham also hosts radio talk shows in Charleston, South Carolina (AM 730 WSC) and Washington, DC (AM 570 WTNT).
