Bush Gets It Right X: Dialog with a Member of Congress

Author: Norman Kjono
Article Published: 28/11/2007

Through the ballot box the nation is decisively rejecting the tobacco control agenda. This rejection, however, is not yet reaching the ears of the nation's politicians.

Norman Kjono continues his dialogue with his representative in the U.S. Congress, pointing out how politicians, subject as they are to intense lobbying efforts by well-funded special interests, promote initiatives that are unpopular with their constituents.  From tobacco regulation by the Food and Drug Administration to smoking bans, people are highly irritated that trivial issues take precedence over solving the important, real problems that face this country.
